The Technology of BMW ActiveE
As we were writing in previous article we are dealing with the first electric car from BMW, that is BMW ActiveE. Its engine uses lithium-ion battery pack located in the rear axle, battery pack developed with help by SB LiMotive. Capable to develop 170 hp (125kW) and 250 Nm, BMW ActiveE feature high technology and a weight of 1,800 kilograms.
One interesting feature is that the BMW ActiveE can be recharged at a conventional power outlet at one of the charging stations.If you live in Europe you may know that you can charge your battery pack in just 3 hours while in North America it takes 4.5 hours to charge the battery pack of your BMW ActiveE.
If we are talking about driving performance figures we know that acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes place in less than 9 seconds and from 0 to 60 km/h in less than 4.5, impressive performances for a electric model.
